Introducing furry care bare Mr. Boo-Radley. He is a Bernese Mountain Dog and he literally is like a giant teddy bear with the most loving personality. His sister is Ms Wendy the St Bernard (you can see her a few blogs down from this one). This is the first time I've drawn so much fur and what makes it a little more difficult is the curls, but I just love how they formed and turned into a realistic look. Usually I always start with the eyes but in this drawing I did all the darkest shadows first. The best part of the video is when the eyes come to life and immediately the softness in Mr Boo's gorgeous personality stares back at you. The drawing time in this one is 8 hours. When adding all additional works such as camera set-up and lighting, as well as video converting and editing it was an approximate amount of 6-7 hours, making for a total of 14-15 hours of work. Producing the videos are a lot of work but what a pleasure it always is to watch them. You can see this video in the gallery of this website.
Time: 8 hrs (drawing time)
Medium: Prismacolor Premier Pencils along with Faber-Castells Polychromos Pencils, Arches Smooth Watercolor Paper 120gsm, Art Spectrum Odourless Solvent.
My next drawing is going to be a massive 420mm x 594mm (A2) drawing of my Ridgeback. Her name is Honey and this drawing is for the Wanneroo Visual Art Competition due in March but exhibiting in May.
Have a super week ahead and I'll see you back here next week :)
